Why Home Safety Matters

Most Accidents Don't Happen Outside the Home. They Happen Inside it.

A loose handrail. A slippery bathroom floor. A doorway that's just a little too narrow. These aren't big problems — until they are.

At Safer Living Home Solutions, we specialize in identifying and addressing the everyday hazards that put seniors and people with mobility challenges at risk. Our modifications are practical, affordable, and designed to blend seamlessly into your home — not make it look like a medical facility.

Whether you're planning ahead, recovering from an injury, or helping an aging parent stay in the home they love, we're here to help.

How It Works For You

Home Safety Services Designed Around Real Life

Step 1 — Home Safety Assessment

We walk through your home together and identify every potential hazard — from the entryway to the bathroom to the bedroom. You'll receive a clear, room-by-room report with our findings and recommendations.

Step 2 — Quick Wins Implementation

We take care of the most impactful modifications right away — grab bars, non-slip surfaces, improved lighting, threshold ramps, and more. Fast, professional, and minimally disruptive.

Step 3 — Follow-Up Planning

We help you plan for the future — whether that means additional modifications over time or navigating funding programs like VA HISA grants that may cover all or part of the cost.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at SaferLivingHS@yahoo.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

We walk through your home — or the home of a family member — with trained eyes and a structured checklist, looking for the everyday hazards that most people have simply stopped noticing. We focus first on the rooms where falls and injuries are most likely: the kitchen, the bathroom, the bedroom, and any areas with stairs or uneven surfaces.

After the assessment, you receive a clear, prioritized written report of what we found and exactly what to do about it — starting with the things that cost nothing at all.

The most frequent issues we find are loose or unsecured rugs, poor lighting (especially at night), items stored too high or too low requiring unsafe reaching or bending, and an absence of anything to hold onto in high-risk areas like the bathroom. We also commonly find smoke or carbon monoxide detectors that haven't been tested in years.

The important thing is that almost all of these can be corrected without spending much money — and many can be fixed during our visit or the same day.

No. Our business is built on the belief that safer living doesn't have to mean significant expense. Our job during an assessment is to observe, document, and advise — not to sell. Any products or services we recommend beyond the assessment itself will be clearly explained, fully optional, and priced transparently.
